Morning Classes
Morning classes are held at The Play Shop (4301 50th St, NW #102 Washington, DC). Easy parking is available in a private lot, and parking validation is provided. Check out a glimpse inside our young artist classes and a preview of the space here!
The first session of our summer morning classes begins the week of June 8 and runs for 6 weeks through the week of July 13. We offer a flexible make-up policy to accommodate the unpredictability of summer schedules.

Join us every Monday for a lively mix of sensory play, art, and movement as we introduce our youngest artists to creative projects, songs, games, and more!
Each class features a 45-minute movement session led by MyGym Potomac.
Art and Movement is designed for children ages 15 months to 4 years and runs from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at The Play Shop.
We start the fun indoors with art and sensory activities, then head outside for movement—weather permitting. If it is too hot, rainy, or wet, we will keep the fun going inside!
Summer Session (6 weeks): June 8 to July 13
Join us on Tuesdays at 9:30 am for a jam-packed class of scooping, squeezing, and exploring various sensory materials! Art is a full hands-on experience! Class includes an introduction to a varying sensory material, a short story and songs, and an open-ended art project.
We switch out the activities and themes each week while keeping the schedule consistent to create a predictable routine for our youngest artists.
Stories, Art, and Sensory Play is designed for children ages 15 months to 3 years old and runs from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at The Play Shop, 4301 50th St, NW #102 Washington, DC.
Summer Session (6 weeks): June 9 to July 14
Sensory play, art, and a dance party all mixed into a 90-minute class! Join us each Wednesday for a mix of the arts— as we introduce our youngest artists to art projects and activities inspired by their favorite songs.
Class includes a 45 minute music class with Sarah King!
Art and Music is designed for ages 15 months to 4 and runs from 9:30am to 11:00am. Class meets at The Play Shop, 4301 50th St, NW #102 Washington, DC.
Summer Session (6 Weeks): June 10 to July 15
We provide a wide range of art and sensory experiences for your 2.5 to 5 year-old child—and handle the clean-up!
In this hour and a half long class, we introduce new art and sensory materials in a structured, but exploratory setting. Each class includes sensory stations, a group story, and a guided project tied to a different children's book.
Art Exploration is designed for children ages 2.5 to 5 and runs from 9:30am to 11am. Art Exploration is held at The Play Shop, 4301 50th St, NW #102 Washington, DC.
Summer Session (6 weeks): June 11 to July 16
Join us on Friday mornings this summer for a magical Special Visitor Morning featuring a guest from Princess Parties of DC! Each class includes sensory play, an art project inspired by our special guest, and a live performance full of fun and imagination.

Special Visitor Mornings are designed for children ages 18 months to 6 years and run from 9:30am to 11am. Drop-off is welcome for children ages 3.5+. Classes are held at The Play Shop, 4301 50th St NW #102, Washington, DC.

Afternoon Classes

Let’s get crafty! This summer afternoon offering is designed to introduce artists to a variety of handicrafts! Each week, artists explore a new crafty medium: stitching, collaging, weaving, embellishing, and much more! Our Summer session features all new projects!
Crafty Club is designed for ages 4 to 10. Drop-off is expected. Class meets at our studio location (5481-C Wisconsin Ave).
Summer Session (5 Weeks): June 16 to July 14
Embrace the art all around us! Our projects will draw on nature, plant, and animal-inspired themes. This is a great opportunity to explore our planet through a creative, Earth-friendly lens and discover inspiration right outside!
Nature and Art is designed for artists ages 3 to 9. Drop-off welcome.
Nature and Art is held at our off-site location, the Little House at Westmoreland Hills Park (5315 Elliott Rd. Bethesda). Class meets inside the Little House. Each week, artists go on a nature walk to inspire the project of the week.
Our Summer session features brand new projects and themes- and hopefully not so hot weather, so we can fully embrace the outdoor inspiration!
